Ghosts of The Four Crosses

There are many, many ghosts and spirits thought to haunt The Four Crosses. These include the sightings of a sinister male figure, children who are seen not only inside The Four Crosses but outside peeking through the windows. The most recent death at this 17th Century Inn occurred in the 1980s when it is said that a young boy ran out into the road outside the pub and was instantly killed.

Another story that is both tragic and mysterious is that of a young baby who died after falling from a table in the upper bar area. This was said to have occurred sometime in the 1800s. There are also many reports of tragic suicides in this building over the years. There is also the mystery of the coachman's uniform that was found inside the chimney breast. There is no explanation for this although many sightings of a man in a coachman's uniform have been witnessed by many people over the years. 

History of The Four Crosses

The history of The Four Crosses is as macabre as the area it stands it. With claims of ghosts known as the Black Eyed Children being seen, strange animals and eerie screeching being heard, you will need nerves of steel to enter The Four Crosses. 

The Four Crosses was originally built in 1636 from old shipping timbers that are almost 1000 years old. Several secret passages have been discovered over the years and even more are still to be unearthed. Perhaps the most astonishing find has been the old coachmans uniform, preserved for over 150 years behind the chimney breast and with a haunting story attached to it.

This building is certainly steeped in intrigue, and has many stories of tragedy.

• Experiments including glass divination, table tipping and Ouija Boards.

Sleepover is optional on this date. If you would like to sleepover until 08:00am, you will need to bring a sleeping bag and pillow with you. 

For those not wishing to sleepover, the ghost hunt finishes at 2:00am.
