With a long and rich history, it is no surprise Nottingham holds some extremely haunted locations.
Location: High Pavement, Lace Market
Why it’s haunted: Former courthouse, jail, and execution site. Visitors and staff have reported apparitions, ghostly screams, and phantom footsteps.

Location: Castle Road
Why it’s haunted: Site of battles, murders, and executions. Includes the famous “Mortimer’s Hole” cave tunnel.

Why it’s haunted: A labyrinth of over 500 man-made sandstone caves used for dwellings, air raid shelters, and tannery work.

Why it’s haunted: A 15th-century pub with tunnels connecting to the caves beneath Nottingham.
Ghosts include: A woman in Victorian dress and phantom monks from the former monastery.
