Your Ghost Hunt at Beaumanor Hall
Your Ghost Hunt at Beaumanor Hall will leave you in no doubt of why this historic building is so active. As you walk in to the Hall you get a real sense of being watched from windows above. There is an overwhelming sense of spirits waiting to interract. With access to so many areas within Beaumanor Hall, it will be difficult to work in each and every room. However, we have identified those areas that have produced so much paranormal activity and intend to ghost hunt through the night in our attempts to make contact with the spirits that remain here.
As well as the haunted bedrooms, servants quarters and cellar areas we will spend time in the haunted corridors and dark hidden rooms where so much has been heard and seen. An overnight ghost hunt at Beaumanor Hall is not for the faint-hearted but will definitely be very rewarding.
Ghosts of Beaumanor Hall
The first attic is said to be haunted by a malevolent male who clearly does not like visitors as he has been heard to shout at them as they walk past. On the floorboards in the upper attic, heavy footsteps have been heard pacing around by those carrying out a vigil in this area. Dark shadows and doors slamming are a regular occurrence and a terrifying feeling of being watched. Others have also heard whispers and felt as if somebody is standing very close to them whilst ghost hunters have encountered batteries and electrical equipment draining as they walk through the Manor.
Perhaps the most famous ghost is that of a spectral lady who has been seen on too many occasions to discount this as hearsay. She is thought to haunt the stairs and has been seen walking through a closed door to the ladies bedroom. Unseen energies have been experienced here at Beaumanor Hall and during our ghost hunt we intend to discover why they are still there.
History of Beaumanor Hall
The grounds of Beaumanor Hall can be traced back to the Norman times. The earliest document preserved among the Beaumanor papers is dated 1277. Although as Beaumanor Hall began its life as a very plain and unpretentious building and over the centuries it has risen to become the magnificent building it is now. During its later existence it was in the posession of the Herrick family for 300 years but in fact prior to this two earlier mansions stood on this site. The Herrick family, notably William Herrick were determined to demonstrate their ample means and ultimately designed a manor fit for a King.
Although those that use the house today speak of its beauty, magnificence and historical importance it also has some fascinating secrets to tell. Importantly during its lifetime Beaumanor Hall was used during the Second World War as home to a military intelligence and became a listening post, deciphering secret messages from the enemy. Evidence of this can still be seen in the cellars, the old servants quarters and its extensive grounds.
William Herrick himself died in Beaumanor Hall and we are able to show you the very spot in the room where he drew his last breath.
