Visitors and ghost hunters have witnessed dark shadow figures and strange shape formations lurking around all areas of the mansion. Disembodied voices have been heard and growling is a regular sound often heard in the dark cellars. Ghosts of Antwerp Mansion
There have been a number of deaths rumoured to have occurred within Antwerp Mansion. Some of these deaths have been recorded whilst other deaths are from hearsay and stories passed down through owners and visitors of the Mansion over the decades. Many people have reported hearing footsteps walking around in the dead of night. Dark shadows are also seen with others hearing disembodied voices. Objects are known to to move around the building causing confusion and many have actually witnessed ghost sightings in certain areas of Antwerp Mansion.
History of Antwerp Mansion
Built as a private home on the Victoria Park Estate in Manchester in 1840, Antwerp Mansion is a gothic style building that has remained as a residence throughout its history. Some historians believe that at some point in its history Antwerp Mansion was home to a Belgian Consul.
In 1922 Antwerp Mansion was massively extended to provide a ballroom and snooker hall, becoming one of the most important Conservative Clubs in Manchester. There are even reports that Winston Churchill once visited the Mansion for a drink.
From 2009 to 2018 Antwerp Mansion was home to Manchester's most notorious rave venue and art centre. It is now a paranormal hot spot for ghost hunters due to the immense paranormal activity that has been witnessed and experienced by so many.
