Your Ghost Hunt at Bron Y Garth Hospital & Mortuary
As soon as you enter this foreboding complex of buildings you will get a sense of its past inhabitants. Built in 1838 to house the poor and then developed as a workhouse, the grey slate stone buildings do nothing to project any welcome. In fact, its location in the vast Welsh countryside only deepens the feelings of what life must have been like for the inhabitants of Bron Y Garth Hospital. As you walk around the vast hospital corridors and spend time in the different wards and dedicated patient areas you will grow to understand the conditions imposed on them.
You will have the opportunity to ghost hunt in all of the areas including the hospital and mortuary.
Ghosts of Bron Y Garth Hospital & Mortuary
There has been a lot of paranormal evidence experienced here. In the two-bedded ward a male entity is thought to do his utmost to get rid of visitors either by snarling at them or moving objects around. There have been experiences of people being touched in the mortuary area and others have witnessed seeing shadows and ghostly apparitions. It doesn't seem to matter what part of the building you are in as there are so many reports of activity throughout the complex of this huge location.
History of Bron Y Garth Hospital & Mortuary
Bron Y Garth Hospital, also known as Ffestiniog Union Workhouse, was originally built by the Victorians in 1839 to house the poor and destitute. It continued until 1948 when it was later developed as a National Health Service Hospital. The hospital eventually closing its doors completely in 2009. You can clearly see these changes and developments throughout the fabrics of the building.
