It is not just the building itself that has a rich paranormal history but the objects that live here. Some of these objects have a morbid and terrifying history and have seen off the hardiest of ghost hunters, are you brave enough to be left alone with them? This is a real opportunity to be involved with so many dimensions of the paranormal.
Your ghost hunt here will ensure that you have time to experience everything that Rowton's Museum has to offer. The museum is dedicated to its research of the after-life and any evidence captured will help to justify that belief.
Working in small groups, we will ensure that no stone is left unturned and that you have the opportunity to carry out many experiments in our attempts to capture that all important evidence. You will be the ghost hunter and take a very active part in discovering more about Rowton's Museum and Penuel Chapel and Cemetery.
At the end of the 19th Century a new reverend was making his way to Carmarthen when he supposedly had an interaction with The Holy Spirit and received some miracle healing for an ongoing medical condition. He was so overwhelmed by this that he went on to become a faith healer at Pen-Y-Fan until about 1904. Since then there have been many miracles and supernatural manifestations taking place.
Spending the night in a haunted building is one thing but when the objects inside the building are there because of their own particular hauntings then it's not surprising that people become overwhelmed with the level of activity here. On top of that you have talk of miracles taking place here and a rich belief that Penuel Chapel is a haven for ghostly activity.
So many apparitions have been seen here and there is far too much evidence to suggest that something very sinister is happening at Penuel Chapel for it to be ignored. With some powerful research already taking place inside this haunted building, we hope that we can add to this evidence when we spend the night locked inside.
The original Penuel Chapel was founded in 1757 by a part-time Preacher, Stephen Davies and was situated in Old Chapel Yard, across the road from where it stands now. In 1778 the congregation was granted formal incorporation and funds were raised to build a new Penuel Chapel to house up to 800 people which was built in 1786. It was extended in 1897 and its continued renovations up to 1909 are how it looks today with much of its interior including the organ being the original pieces. Rowton’s Museum now houses hundreds of supposedly haunted artefacts including some terrifying haunted dolls, each with their own unique personality. Artefacts from World War 1 and Victorian mourning dresses to name but a few.
The owners of Rowton's Museum have dedicated themselves to paranormal research and have a wealth of evidence to share with you on the hauntings of both the Chapel and the Artefacts housed within it.
