Anguished screams, the apparition of a woman walking the halls and unexplained noises are commonplace at Bolebroke Castle and staff and visitors alike have reported so much activity that we felt we had to investigate this incredible 15th Century building.
Bolebroke Castle is set in 30 acres of beautiful private Sussex parkland and situated just 5 minutes away from Hever Castle, the birth place of Anne Boleyn. The Castle has a wealth of history and King Henry VIII used the Castle as a Hunting Lodge and courted Anne Boleyn from here. Recently used as a location for the filming of ‘The Other Boelyn Girl’, there are many fine rooms with original beamed ceilings and wood panelling. Everywhere in the castle is 16th century furniture and tapestries depicting scenes of the period; the Elizabethan staircase is carved from solid Oak and is one of the finest in existence.
Step back in time with us as we investigate the very halls that Henry VIII has walked and gather in the great Great Hall, Banqueting Hall and even Henry VIII’s bedroom to conduct our vigils and experiments in search of the paranormal.
There have been many ghosts seen here and many unexplained happenings by staff and visitors alike. People staying here have heard terrifying, anguished screams as well as male voices as they walk up the staircase. The figure of a woman dressed in what appears to be Nun’s clothing has been seen wandering the halls and the ghost of Anne Boleyn who was at the castle on many occasions has been seen many times walking through the Great Hall. Light anomalies, atmospheric changes, whispering, tapping and scraping noises have all been witnessed at this very haunted location.
You will be accompanied on this investigation by our medium and paranormal team, who will guide you through the night and help you become a ghost hunter. You will have full use of all of our ghost hunting equipment and be able to carry out vigils and seances in the most active areas. You will also have the opportunity to carry out lone vigils and will be encouraged to participate in Glass Divination, Table Tipping and Ouija Board experiments, to name but a few.
Refreshments and snacks will be provided throughout the night.
