The dark, satanic Mills of Armley are a haven for poltergeist and ghost activity.
This mill stands on land that has been used for milling since the middle of the 16th Century and by the 1850s Armley had become the largest in the World. The working conditions were harsh and cruel, with no regulations and children were put to work here amongst the heavy machinery from as young as 5 years old, sometimes with deadly consequences. The treatment they received at the hands of the supervisors was barbaric and cruel and many died here as a result of the lack of care taken for them.
We have exclusive access to this vast building for the night, which spans over 4 floors and also includes the Mill Owner's Cottage. In the bowels of the building you will find the Corn Mill which is the oldest part and certainly the most scary. So much activity has been witnessed down here that many are too afraid to go down the final flight of steps.
On previous investigations here, we have witnessed figures walking the stairs of the corn mill, heavy banging on the floor above when we were all in one room and heard sinister, heavy breathing around us. One particular seat in the cinema which has been imported from another part of Leeds is often found to have been put back down as though someone has sat on it and the poltergeist activity near the children's activity room has left us baffled. The most terrifying moment was when some of the heavy machinery inexplicably turned itself on and started working - something which the staff from the mills could not explain.
Your investigation will include a brief familiarisation tour of the location, before breaking into small investigation teams to conduce Séances, Vigils & experiments in the most active areas. You will have the opportunity to use our extensive range of ghost hunting equipment and carry out workshops to learn useful skills for the event and have time to go off and explore the location without the team, so that you can have your own personal experiences. Are you brave enough to carry out a lone vigil in the Corn Mill?
