Our Ghost Supper at the haunted Bull 'i' th' Thorn will consist of a 3 course home cooked supper followed by a thorough investigation of this ancient Inn.
Ghosts, Spirits and apparitions have all been seen at The Bull i'th'Thorn. The pub has its resident ghosts seen by many, as well as the ghosts and spirits that come to visit at certain times of the year.
The little girl who likes to play but can sometimes get very angry. The Cavalier who parades around the car park and has been known to visit people in their caravans whilst they are sleeping. The smells of tobacco smoke, the light anomalies, books being thrown. The list goes on and on and there is no end to the different stories that are told and retold regarding the haunting in this pub.
Richard Felix of Most Haunted TV fame wrote about The Bull i'th'Thorn in his book and writes some very good descriptions about his paranormal visits here with various groups of people. He found this pub to be very active and felt that it had a variety of ghosts.
Some parts of the pub date as far back as the 1100's even though evidence has shown that it goes back to BC in one particular area. The owner of the pub and the staff are so used to the Ghosts that they find themselves talking to them and getting quite cross with them. One member of staff even had a jug thrown at him.
- You will then be shown around the pub, in particular the most active areas and learn a little about its history.
- You will be given a demonstration on how to use the ghost hunting equipment and then left to go and investigate alone for a short while.
- We will then have a tour with the Medium who will let you know what spirits may be around at that particular time.
- We then begin the scary Ghost Hunt with vigils and seances. You will be given every opportunity to carry out your own vigils and to make the night your own.
You will be served tea and coffee throughout the night along with light refreshments.
Please note that the mobile reception at this venue is very poor - whilst at the event if you need a contact on the night regarding travel delays or contact for babysitters please call The Bull in th' Thorn on 0129883348.
Have to say that I had a good if not terrifying time on friday night (7 March 2008). This was my first experience of ghost hunting (hence the screaming!) and it could possibly be a while before I dare do it again. But I saw, heard and felt things that I could not rationally explain. To mention a few ... the incident in the pool room when Paul was thrown across the pool table followed by the bright flashes of light, the smell that keep drifting past, and the cold sensation on my hand where Clare said the dogs were licking it. In the childrens room I saw shadows drifting around the floor almost like waves, my neck burning and a slight feeling of something jumping up at me which made me feel very uncomfortable and I had to leave the room. Thanks to everyone involved for a most surprising evening, one which I'm sure my friends and I will never forget.
