Lichfield Old Gaol Ghost Hunt - Saturday 23rd June 2012
The beauty of the Lichfield Guildhall hides a dark and tormented past.
The Old Gaol is situated at the rear of the old Lichfield Guildhall and has housed convicts facing execution by public hanged from 1553 onwards. This is a very sinister area with a real essence of the misery and torment endured by these poor souls and the suffering they endured at the hands of those who condemned them to death.
Set in one of the most haunted cities in England, Lichfield Guildhall and Old Gaol has so much history attached to it. It is not known when the Guildhall was originally built but it is thought that it was erected in 1387 and has been refurbished many times during its existence, bringing it to the good condition it is in today. It is still used for Council meetings and civic events including the ancient court of Arraye and St George’s Court.
Our investigation will give you the opportunity to experience not only the dark, sinister Old Gaol, but also the stunning Lichfield Guildhall itself, as well as other areas of the building that have a surprisingly dark and unwelcoming feel to them. We have been given exclusive access to the whole building for the night and will take you on a Ghost Hunt to discover the Spirits and Ghosts that reside within.
Our pervious investigations here have delivered some alarming results, with Poltergeist activity and physical responses being witnessed and experienced. We have witnessed significant temperature drops, seen figures and shadows moving around us and even a small table move violently across the floor near the Old Gaol.
You will work in small groups throughout the night, conducting Vigils and Séances in different parts of the building, as well as have the opportunity to carry out Ouija Board, Table Tipping and Glass Divination experiments. Our expert team will be on hand to guide you through the night, but you will be encouraged to get involved, giving you the best chance of experiencing something paranormal. You will also have the opportunity to carry out your own vigils without the team and even to spend time alone in the very cells that many have spent their final hours within, contemplating their fate.
Refreshments and light snacks are included throughout the night.
