Join Haunted Happenings for an eerie overnight ghost hunt at the haunted Whittington Castle. This is an amazing location for ghost hunting as it is abound with paranormal activity. This 12th Century Castle in Oswestry, Shropshire is shrouded in mystery and has a wealth of history associated with it. This Castle has seen many bloody battles in its history. Taken from the Royalists by Oliver Cromwell in 1643 it is now managed by the Whittington Preservation Trust, belonging to the community.
Whittington Castle is not short of resident ghosts and spirits with a few visitors appearing for good measure. Apart from the footsteps of invisible feet and cold spots and light anomalies, there have been many other sightings here.
The most usual sightings have been that of children. They have been seen appearing in the most unusual places such as the gatehouse windows. Their faces have been contorting in pain and look quite grotesque. Many people who have seen them have felt heartbroken afterwards. There is the story attached to the Elizabethan Chest and the curse on those who opened it. The heirs allegedly perished in great pain and so much fear and trepidation is still associated to it that it is now locked and hidden away. The key has been hidden.
A shadow has been seen on many occasions by many people and is thought to be the shadow of a male. People who have been on their own have felt his presence and seen the shadow when they have turned around. You will be able to spend some time in the haunted dungeon if you can withstand the scratching sounds and moans emanating from it.
All in all this is a very haunted location. On your visit here you will be working with the paranormal team in small groups to get the very best activity. You will be able to carry out experiments, use all of the ghost hunting equipment and hold vigils and séances in the most active areas. You will also have the option to carry out your own mini-ghost hunt if you are brave enough.
What a night for our first hunt, it was out of this world, voices, lights, foot steps, moving tables, too much to write down here. A big thanks to every one that was there, it was great. Now looking forward to the next one, hooked now.
