Hyde Town Hall - Built over one hundred and twenty years ago in 1885 Hyde Town Hall was the creation of J. W. Beaumont. The building is immense with some fascinating areas to investigate. There is an extremely imposing war memorial which shows the names of those that died in the Great War but 3 are missing, we wonder why?

The phenomena at this location is well known amongst staff and visitors alike. Its reputation is such that the strange occurences have almost become accepted. Eerie and strange noises have been heard, footsteps pacing up and down, cold and hot spots have been felt in most rooms by many guests.

Poltergeist activity has been reported so many times that it no longer shocks the staff. You may have to dodge the small stones and objects that may be thrown towards you as this is also a regular occurence. Each room appears to have some phenomena so it will be interesting to see the different activity that you pick up in each room. Even the most hardened sceptic has been left feeling confused by what they have witnessed.

Haunted Happenings have full use of this building exclusively for the night. This is a fantastic opportunity for you ghost hunters to have the experience of holding your own vigils and carrying out your own experiments away from other people.

We will ensure that you are given the space and time to investigate this building using your own abilities without influence from anybody else. We will, of course, be on hand at any time to help demonstrate the glass moving, table tipping and seances with our experienced Mediums and Paranormal Team.

Full use of our ghost hunting equipment is available to everybody and we actively encourage the use of cameras and any other equipment you wish to bring. However, Ouija boards may be refused if our Medium or the Location does not advise them to be used for our own safety.

This event is for over 18's only. Hot and cold drinks will be served throughout the night along with snacks and crisps.

Please book through Haunted Happenings and not the location, thank you.

Testimonial

My brother and I would like to say what a great time we had with you and the team at hyde town hall on halloween. we both experienced paranormal activity, including being touched and pushed. my brother had a stone thrown at him when he pulled a wooden cross out of his pocket which he said he had brought for protection! before we were told about emily, the little girl in the courtyard who was killed by a horse and carriage, I noticed him scratching the side of his face, he said he felt like someone was pulling his hair and stroking his face! the manager then explained that emily liked to pull hair and touch people.

When we were in the grand hall where the stage was, I saw two white blobs floating behind the curtain, I didnt say anything because it actually looked like a minature snowman and I thought it was my eyes playing tricks. however, I now believe them to be orbs, something that I was unaware of before I came to the event.

By far the best place was the mortuary, with two girls being thrown off a table, shuffling noises and an unexplained loud bang which scared us all.
Chris the medium said he saw a man in a millitary uniform called john morris, I knew I had great great relatives of this surname so I checked it out with my dad and guess what, my great great grandfather was called john morris!

I experienced sensations in different parts of the building, including feeling hot and cold, and sick on the stairs under the stage as well as a smell of death. I didnt tell anyone, but a girl in our group said she felt the same in the same place and that she could see a woman laid at the bottom of the stairs with a broken neck!

Please thank all the team for us.
we are looking to book with you again soon
